The Active Westminster partnership invites the local community to join them for a weekend of FREE activities.

The partnership made up of Everyone Active and Westminster City Council amongst others is hosting a Community Open Weekend on Saturday 27th April and Sunday 28th April 2019.

Everyone Active, operator of City of Westminster leisure centres are opening their doors for everyone to come along, to get active for free. The Active Westminster Community Open Weekend is open to all ages and abilities. A chance for friends and families to get together, be active and try something new.

A wide range of activities will be taking place in and around all leisure centres and facilities with Westminster:

Saturday 27th April:

Paddington Recreation Ground, W9 1PD
To celebrate the official opening of the BRAND NEW Adventure Playground, the team will be hosting a children’s party with the ‘Be Active Bee’ mascot from 10am to 3pm.
The new Adventure Playground is open to ALL, there is NO age restrictions however all adults must be accompanied by a child!
Face painting will be available throughout the day and all will be able to enjoy a bouncy castle from 1pm to 5pm.
For the whole family there will be multi-sport games from 10am to 3pm and Unity in the Community Football Tournament will be running from 10am to 6pm.
Something for everyone to take part in and try!

Moberly Sports Centre, NW10 3NB
Family Boccia sessions, with Sports for Confidence will be on offer from 2pm to 4pm. Boccia is a Paralympic sport that can be played by anyone, it is a co-ed sport of control and accuracy.
Those looking to breakout in a sweat can take part in 3 Virtual Spin sessions that are happening throughout the day at 10am, 12pm and 2pm.

Queen Mother Sports Centre, SW1V 1EL
10am 12pm & 2pm Virtual Spin Sessions
For those wanting to have splash, at 4pm to 5pm a fun filled flume Wet and Wild session is on offer.1

Porchester Centre, W2 5HS
Chelsea and Westminster swim club will be holding an open swimming session from 12.30pm for anyone wishing to have a splash around.
Open Age will be running gym sessions from 2.30pm to 3.30pm for anyone who wishes to become more confident in the gym.
Those looking to try a new way of keeping active a fun circuit session will be running from 5pm to 6pm.
A Ladies ONLY swim session is on offer from 6pm to 7pm. Providing a comfortable, relaxed environment for ladies to do an activity they love or are new too.

Little Venice Sports Centre, W2 1ND
The gym will be open ALL DAY so get yourself down there to try out all the equipment that is on offer.

Seymour Leisure Centre, W1H 5TJ
From 10am to 4pm there is free access to the Jungle Gym (please ensure under 8’s are supervised).

Marshall Street Leisure Centre, W1F 7EL
FREE Adult Swimming lessons will be provided from 1pm to 3pm, head down if it something you have always wanted to try.
There will also be Ladies ONLY swim session taking place from 3pm to 4.30pm.

Fisherton and Luton Street
As part of our Active Streets a Playstreet will be happening 11am to 2pm.

Sunday 28th April:

Paddington Recreation Ground, W9 1PD
The Junior Parkrun will be continuing without fail this weekend as usual from 9am, it is a 2k run for 4 to 14-year olds.
For those who wish to try cycling instead an Outdoor Spin Class will taking place from 11.30am to 12.30pm get yourselves down to make the most of the outdoor weather.
From 1pm to 5pm this is the time when the whole family can do an activity together no matter how old you are! Multi sports games will be running throughout the afternoon.
For the younger members of the community the bouncy castle will be staying for the Sunday 1pm to 5pm.

Moberly Sports Centre, NW10 3NB
For the Under 5’s the softplay area will be open from 10am to 4pm.
The virtual spin sessions are back this time taking place at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 6pm.
Family swim sessions will be running from 12pm to 3pm, a space where everyone can get confident in the water.
If you are needing a bit of music in your life a ZUMBA class is running from 12.15pm to 1pm where you can break into a semi-coordinated sweat.
Finally, a big bouncy castle will also be available from 2pm to 4pm if your children still haven’t run out of energy.

Porchester Centre, W2 5HS
The Chelsea and Westminster swim club will be holding an open swim session from 12.30pm.
Returning for a 2nd day Open Age are running gym sessions from 2.30pm to 3.30pm providing support for anyone who wants to try going to the gym but doesn’t think it is for them.
From 6pm to 7pm those who fancy trying multiple different exercises, a circuit session will be running.
The ladies only session will also be returning on Sunday from 6pm to 7pm.

Queen Mother Sports Centre, SW1V 1EL
10am 12pm & 2pm Virtual Spin Sessions
Family Badminton sessions will be on offer from 12pm to 2pm.
The big friendly fun filled flume Wet and Wild sessions are back for a second day from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Little Venice Sports Centre, W2 1ND
The gym will be OPEN again for a second day, ALL DAY!

Marshall Street Leisure Centre, W1F 7EL
The gym will be OPEN to everyone especially families from 10am to 4pm, get yourselves there if you’ve always wondered whether the gym is for YOU!
Ladies only swim sessions are back for a 2nd day they will be from 3pm to 4.30pm.

Seymour Leisure Centre W1H 5TJ
There will be 3 one-hour Climbing Wall sessions running throughout the day at 10am, 11.15am and 12.30pm, unfortunately there are ONLY 4 spaces per hour so get yourselves to reception to book!
FREE swimming is on offer ALL DAY if you fancy a different form of activity.

Fisherton and Luton Street
As part of our Active Streets, the Playstreet will be returning for a second day at the same time of 11am to 2pm.
