Active Westminster Schools Award

Congratulations to all of our school who were nominated for an Active Westminster Award and for those who were shortlisted.

This award goes to the school, academy or college that delivers outstanding opportunities to keep their students active.

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School recently achieved the Healthy Schools Gold Award, which is rewarded for increasing the number of pupils participating in physical activity, and for exceeding the targets they set for pupil’s engagement with physical activity.

St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School

St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School offers each class a minimum of two hours of PE each week and endeavours to cater for all pupil’s interests and needs by having a wide selection of sports based clubs led by teachers and specialist coaches. The school also has 16 pupil Sport Ambassadors who lead daily lunchtime sport activities for all year groups, which has resulted in over 80 per cent of the pupils attending school clubs.

All Souls C of E Primary School

The All Souls C of E Primary School engage their pupils in school games activitiesby including them in the planning and development of activities, as well as attending extracurricular sporting activities with local sports clubs and organisations such as the YMCA and Marylebone Cricket Club. As a result 88 per cent of young people within theschool are engaged in extracurricular sporting activity.

Gateway Academy

Gateway Academy has increased its sports provision by introducing new after school clubs, and increasing the amount of staff to encourage greater participation of pupils in sports across all age groups. Gateway Academy has also encouraged children tocompete in local events, such as the Vitality Westminster Mile and charity events.
