Tennis Court Floodlight Upgrade at Paddington Recreation Ground

Work to upgrade the tennis court floodlights at Paddington Recreation Ground is due to commence in coming weeks, contributing to Westminster City Council’s wider commitment to becoming a carbon neutral city by 2040.

Works will involve upgrading the floodlights of both the synthetic and tarmac tennis courts and will take place at staggered intervals to help ensure alternative provision is available.

Court Closures

  • Tarmac Tennis Courts – Monday 20 September – Friday 24 September
  • Synthetic Tennis Courts – Monday 27 September – Friday 1 October

The old floodlights surrounding the courts will be replaced with new, energy efficient LED lighting, which is durable and has a long life-span.

In 2019, Westminster City Council declared a climate emergency and is committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions from council operations by 2030 and across the city by 2040.

You can find out more about the council’s commitment on climate emergency pages of the main council website. If you have any queries about the works going on at paddington Recreation ground, please get in touch.
