Sayers Croft offers participants aged 16 and over the opportunity to complete a residential that could count towards their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Run by our experienced staff, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and gain new experiences. The week is a mix of adventure activities and conservation, which fulfil all the requirements of the Gold DofE residential section.
Throughout the week you’ll be taking part in a range of adventure, challenge and team building activities. These typically include, rock climbing, archery, zip wire, outdoor cooking and a campfire.
The conservation work takes place on site, and offers participants a wide range of tasks: previous projects have included tree planting and coppicing, path laying and fence construction. This work really improves the outdoor experience for our visiting school children, and gains you a John Muir Discovery Award.
Accommodation is on our beautiful 56 acre site in one of our dormitories, with same-sex shared rooms, showers, and a common room. All meals are included, and our chefs can cater to a wide range of dietary requirements.
To book your place on an upcoming residential, or if you have any questions about the week, please email DofE@sayers-croft.org.uk.
