Why Choose Us

The Outdoor Experience

A residential trip to Sayers Croft provides a truly rural environment for your group with woodlands, meadows, ponds and streams to explore on site, all within 40 minutes of the M25. Our wide range of activities encompasses nature discovery, team challenges, exploration and adventure. From pond dipping to the Gladiator Challenge, our team is dedicated to delivering tailored experiences to meet the needs of your group and create lasting memories!

Personalised Programme

Whatever your objectives, we will work with you to design a programme of instructor-led activities focussed on your needs. Your group will be allocated a lead instructor to plan and host your trip, and who can also advise on appropriate accommodation and activities to meet any accessibility needs your group may have.

Residential Options

In school term time we offer:

  • 2 night (Mon-Wed, Wed-Fri)
  • 4 night (Mon-Fri)

Weekends are also possible for a minimum booking of 50 people.

In school holiday time, trips of more flexible duration can be arranged for youth and community groups.

*The cost of your trip includes meals, accommodation and all activities.

Safety and Support

We want you to be relaxed about your stay, so to give you a helping hand we have written guidance notes explaining how each activity will run, along with risk assessments and other resources to make sure that you feel ready before you set off.

National Standards

Sayers Croft is an LOtC Quality Badge holder, an award for organisations who meet nationally recognised standards in learning & safety. The Department for Education’s guidance on Health & Safety on Educational Visits recommends that schools look for the LOtC Quality Badge when choosing external providers and most Local Authority Outdoor Education Advisers accept it in place of some or all of their checks.

Home from Home

We understand that young children on their first trip away from home can be unsure and nervous, looking to find something familiar and comforting. This is where the Sayers Croft team comes in with a warm welcome on arrival, providing a safe, clean and homely environment for the children to relax in. Kind and reassuring, supporting children in making independent food choices, building the foundation of trust to enable them to be brave in the outdoors.

Accommodation

Our six cosy dormitories, each with their own classroom, make the ideal base for groups to plan and relax at either end of a busy day. Girls and boys sleep in separate bunk-style rooms (all bedding included) with attached leaders’ bedrooms. Each dormitory is equipped with WiFi, DVD player, projector and kitchenette with tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided. On arrival you will be helped to settle in by an instructor who will look after your group for the duration of your stay. The Sayers Croft team is on site 24 hours a day to make sure that every visit runs smoothly; each member of staff is professional, fully trained and DBS checked. For your peace of mind, all dormitories are lockable and alarmed.

Food

Meal times are one of the most important activities and our catering team works hard to produce a nutritious, tasty menu of freshly-cooked food. This season’s breakfast menu includes cooked options, cereals, toast, and pancakes to set you up for the day. Jacket spuds, wraps or pizza with salad, fresh fruit and yogurt will keep you energised until dinner which features kids’ favourites such as BBQ chicken, spaghetti with meatballs and chocolate roly-poly.

Our experienced chefs are able to cater for a wide range of dietary requirements.
