Residential Trips

Whether you are looking to build independence, develop team spirit or enhance curriculum delivery, a residential trip to Sayers Croft delivers an immersive experience and creates memories that last a lifetime.

Exploring The Beauty of the Natural World

With a mixture of woodland, meadows, fields, ponds and streams we manage the site and our activities so the children can explore safely, get dirty, touch, smell and interact with nature in a way they would otherwise not experience. This shapes their understanding of the environment and how we can impact it, and builds their self-esteem, confidence, physicality and independence.

We offer a wide choice of engaging, fun activities within our own beautiful woodlands and meadows at Sayers Croft. This allows us to make sure that, no matter where children are exploring, the area is safe and has clear boundaries. Whatever your objectives, we will work with you to design a unique programme tailored to your needs.

Adventure

Adventure sessions at Sayers Croft focus on individual challenge and empathy for others. Groups learn how to use supportive language to encourage one another whilst sharing responsibility for each other’s safety with our experienced instructors.

Activities include climbing, bouldering, caving, rope courses, gladiator challenge, raft building, archery and axe throwing.

Exploration

The varied habitats at Sayers Croft promote independent and creative exploration. It’s the perfect environment for enabling children to take control of their own learning. Asking questions, telling stories and creating art work all empower children to create new experiences and memories to take back home.

Activities include clay modelling, earth walks, natural art, orienteering, compass navigation, stream walks, Celtic/Roman roundhouse, WW2 and village study sessions.

Challenge

Challenges at Sayers Croft come in many shapes and sizes. We may ask children to negotiate over limited resources, developing tolerance for others, or complete logic and puzzle based tasks that encourage clear communication and cooperation to meet specific criteria. These sessions build self esteem in a positive learning environment.

Activities include team play, challenge course, ballista building, shelter building, the maze and blindfold trails.
