Join us for a week of Adventure with Conservation or Archaeology and complete your Gold residential!
Run by our experienced staff, this is a great opportunity to gain new experiences, get to know like-minded people and make new friends.
You will be helping with a variety of practical conservation tasks in our grounds and adjoining nature reserve. Past projects have included building fences, clearing ponds, bramble bashing and creating log circle seats. This conservation work directly benefits the local environment as well as the outdoor experience of over 16,000 children a year.
You will be taking part in a ‘ground-breaking’ archaeological dig in our nature reserve to discover and investigate historical evidence. Past excavations in the area have revealed a road network dating back thousands of years to Roman times! You will be working alongside the Surrey Archaeology Society to find out all about what happens on a genuine archaeological dig. You will learn new skills and techniques and dig into the past to find out more about our fascinating Roman heritage. Continuing the history theme, you will get the opportunity to visit our reconstructed Iron Age roundhouse and genuine World War Two air raid shelter.
Throughout the week you’ll also have the opportunity to take part in a range of exciting activities including high ropes, climbing, archery, axe throwing and caving.
Dormitory accommodation is on our beautiful 56 acre site, with same-sex shared rooms, showers, and a common room. All meals are included, and our chefs can cater to a wide range of dietary requirements.
