Entries are now open for the iconic Vitality Westminster Mile 2024 taking place on Saturday 21st September
The run follows a spectacular route, setting off from The Mall and finishing in front of Buckingham Palace, and is the ideal event for individuals, groups or families to take part in to get fit, raise money for a charity, or just for fun.
The Vitality Westminster Mile, the world’s most iconic mile, returns on Saturday 21 September.
As always, this spectacular family friendly event starts on The Mall, goes around St James’s Park and finishes in front of Buckingham Palace. In addition to the Mile, there will be a free all day festival in Green Park, packed with family-friendly activations – again all free.
This year we have worked with our partners at London Marathon Events to create a new Westminster Community Wave. This will take place at 09:55 on Saturday 21 September.
This event is exclusively for anyone who lives in Westminster and our Communities and Sport and Leisure teams will be working with community groups across Westminster to encourage and inspire residents to enter. Everyone is welcome – to walk, jog or run that famous mile.
NEW WESTMINSTER COMMUNITY WAVE
Excitingly, the Westminster Community Wave will be absolutely FREE of charge to enter and, in addition to that, every participant will receive a souvenir medal and also a free picnic lunch bag to enjoy in Green Park at the Vitality Wellness Festival!

How to enter
You can register to run solo or as a group. The family-friendly mile is:
- free for under 11s
- £7 for ages 11 to 17; however, if you are a Westminster resident, the youngster fee is discounted to £2
- just £10 for adults; however, if you are a Westminster resident the adult fee is discounted to £5
