Dance Westminster 2024

Now celebrating its 5th Anniversary, our fun, free, annual pan-disability dance competition, is designed to encourage disabled people to be more active through dance. This year we want to make it bigger and better. So, we are calling all dance enthusiasts to read all the information below and book the scheduled workshops.

Dance Westminster is supported by Step Change Studios, an award-winning, pioneering dance company committed to making dance accessible for everyone.

Open to disabled people aged 11 and over who live, study or work in the borough, Dance Westminster gives people the opportunity to attend a free dance workshop where they can experience an inclusive, engaging dance class and learn a dance routine.

Participants will then take part in an audition where they can perform the routine they have learned in the workshop or freestyle and dance whatever they like. Ten finalists will be selected to take part in a grand final on October 15th at The Porchester Hall where they will compete with a professional dance partner for the 2024 Dance Westminster Title & People’s Champion Award chosen by the audience.

Every finalist will receive 1:1 dance coaching from a professional partner and they will perform together at the finals where a judging panel and the audience will decide the Dance Westminster 2024 Champion.

From Ballroom to Bollywood dance, Dance Westminster is a pan-disability event for all abilities and no previous dance experience is required. Carers are welcome to participate with people they support and our team of dance staff and volunteers will support everyone to dance, whether seated or standing.
