Dance Westminster

Dance Westminster - Let's dance

Now in its third year, our fun, free, annual pan-disability dance competition, designed to encourage disabled people to be more active through dance starts on September 29th and finishes with our Celebration Grand Final on November 15th at the Porchester Hall.

Dance Westminster is led by Step Change Studios, an award-winning, pioneering dance company committed to making dance accessible for everyone.

Here’s how you can be one of our finalists on November 15th.

The opportunity is open to disabled people aged 10 and over who live, study or work in the borough.

We already held 3 workshops to identify 9 of this year’s Dance Westminster Finalists and our 10th will be selected from the video entries. Online video submissions are now closed.

Every finalist will receive 1:1 dance coaching from a professional partner who they will perform with at the Grand Final in front of our celebrity judging panel to crown the Dance Westminster 2022 Champion.

The Grand Final

On Tuesday 15 Nov, we will see our finalists and their partners perform their routine live in front of families and friends and we would love you to join us and help celebrate their achievements. Doors will open at 12:30pm for a 1pm start unless otherwise advised. Tickets are free and can be accessed via Evenbrite at Dance Westminster 2022 Celebration Grand Final Tickets

Dance Westminster is our innovative project aiming to encourage more disabled people in the community to be active. The project is being run by Westminster City Council in partnership with local inclusive dance company Step Change Studios and is open to people with disabilities aged 10 and over who live, study or work in the borough.

This year’s competition started with three free workshops across the borough for participants to experience an inclusive, engaging dance class and learn a dance routine. Auditions then identified our 10 amazing finalists who are receiving 8 hours of 1-2-1 tuition with a professional dance partner to prepare their routine for the Grand Final.

Please note that this event is likely to be very popular so if you are unable to attend, can we ask that you cancel your ticket(s) at least 48 hours before the final so that someone else has the opportunity.”

Westminster City Council is committed to providing an active city for all

This is Westminster’s annual inclusive dance event that will not only enable people to dance, but it will also provide opportunities for people to find out more about the different inclusive activities and sport in the community.

We want everyone to get behind the Dance Westminster participants and finalists, so if you know someone that loves dance or would like to have a go, please encourage them to apply. The Heats and Finals are open to the public to come along, so enjoy the dancing and support our stars.
