Swim for Free – Children and Young People and residents eligible for concessions
Children and young people living and studying in Westminster and residents eligible for concessions can enjoy FREE SWIMMING in all of our Westminster Council Leisure Centres.
Who can swim for free?

Children and young people under 19, or people with disabilities under 25, who live in Westminster.

How to get this
To swim for free, you need an ActiveWestminster Card.
Take proof of who you are and where you live, such as ID or a letter and visit a Westminster Leisure Centre near you where staff at reception will help you register.
After you get your card, book a free swimming session before you go. You can book online or at the centre. Bring your card with you and show it when you arrive.
Swim for Free – Adult and Child Free Swimming during Schools Holiday NEW!
Adults accompanying Westminster resident children can enjoy free swimming during school holidays at any Westminster City Council Leisure Centre pool.
Read eligibility conditions and rules:
- One free adult per qualifying child.
- Free swimming session times availability varies by leisure centre – check their website for details.
- Kids under 8 require supervision by an adult over 18 in the water, with a maximum ratio of two children to one adult.
- Participants must register for the ActiveWestminster card in advance. All children must be residents to qualify for the scheme.
- All swim sessions must be pre-booked. Wristbands to be collected at reception.
- Available Mon – Fri, 10am – 4pm during school holidays.
The next school holidays are:
- Easter: Monday 30 March to Friday 10 April 2026
- May half term: Monday 25 May to Sunday 31 May 2026
- Summer holidays: Tuesday 21st July to Tuesday 1st September 2026
How to get this
During school holidays, one adult can swim for free with a child who lives in Westminster. Both the accompanying adult and the child need an ActiveWestminster Card.
Go to a Westminster Leisure Centre with proof of address and ID and staff will help you sign up for the card. Once you have the card, book a school holiday swim in advance. You can book online or at the centre.
Bring your card with you and show it when you arrive to collect a wristband before going to the pool.
Swim for Free in Westminster – Residents aged 60+
Westminster residents aged 60 and over can enjoy free swimming at our leisure centres with pools across the borough with an ActiveWestminster Card. Children and young people under 16 are also included, helping residents of all ages stay healthy, active, and connected.
How to get this
If you are aged 60 or over and live in Westminster, you can swim for free. You need an ActiveWestminster Card.
Visit a Westminster Leisure Centre with proof of your age and address and staff will help you register for the card.
After signing up, you can use your card to access free swimming sessions. Pool availability may vary and some sessions need to be booked in advance, so check before you go.
How to register for the ActiveWestminster Discount Card
An ActiveWestminster Card is needed for all free swimming options. Registering is easy and free. You must sign up in person at one of our Westminster Leisure Centre and bring proof of your details.
