The Park Makers’ scheme regulates, facilitates and enables the use of Westminster Parks and Open Spaces by various community providers and PT’s, primarily through recruiting, training and/or deploying local providers and individuals to deliver play, physical activity, leisure and sport opportunities in our parks and open spaces that benefit both body and mind.

The Park Makers’ Scheme aims to:
- Help people of all ages and abilities be active outdoors
- Support community-led activity in local parks
- Keep parks safe, accessible and well looked after
- Make sure activities work alongside other park users
Who can apply
Park Makers is open to people and organisations delivering physical activity, sport, play or wellbeing sessions, including:
- Personal trainers
- Sport coaches
- Private coaches or instructors
- Community and voluntary groups
- Not-for-profit organisations
- Private organisations
The scheme is free to join.
Become a recognised physical activity provider in Westminster
To take part, all Park Makers must complete the ActiveWestminster Mark accreditation.
When you join the Park Makers’ Scheme, you get:

- Trust and recognition through ActiveWestminster accreditation

- Better visibility, so residents can find you more easily
- Opportunities to be matched with community programmes

*Access is subject to meeting scheme requirements and completing accreditation.
Register your interest
Before running sessions in a park, you will need to:
- Complete the Park Makers form below
- Have the right qualifications
- Hold public liability insurance
- Meet safeguarding requirements
- Follow health and safety guidance
Once you’ve submitted the form, the ActiveWestminster team will be in touch to explain what happens next.

ActiveWestminster (WCC) does not manage The Royal Parks so cannot make a decision on delivery in Hyde Park, St James Park and Regents Park. Individuals/Groups will need to contact Royal Parks directly and there may be a delivery fee to run any form of fitness activity in these parks.
