ActiveWestminster Network Activity Project Funding

The Network Activity Project Funding is a funding opportunity for ActiveWestminster network partners to support health and wellbeing physical activity projects in the community. In the funding cycle for 2025-2026, partners were able to apply for up to £2,000 to start or upscale a project that promotes physical activity.

The current funding cycle for 2025-2026 is now closed.

We will publish the new funding cycle dates for 2026-27 in early 2026.

Applications must meet certain criteria, such as being an ActiveWestminster network partner, maintaining accurate participant records, and providing a social value plan. The projects should contribute to increased activity and wellbeing in Westminster communities for at least three years.

Who Can Apply?

Network partners and their projects must fulfil certain criteria in order to be awarded funding support.

Criteria for organisations:

  • Must hold or be working towards ActiveWestminster Mark. Please note, if working towards, you must provide the name of club. This will be confirmed by the Relationship Officer who manages this area.
  • Requirement to maintain an accurate record (via Views) of total participant numbers per session, number of returning participants, demographic information as outlined by ActiveWestminster.
  • Requirement to complete a social value plan.
  • Requirement to evidence project impact which may include but not limited to; testimonials, questionnaires, interviews, media (e.g. photos/videos) culminating in an end of project summary report.

Application Criteria:

  • Propose a new or upscaled project that will directly contribute to increased activity levels and wellbeing within Westminster communities for 3+ years. 
  • Provide a projected financial breakdown identifying how funding will be used.
  • It is expected that the organisation has discussed the project/provide supporting statements from local partners prior to applying

This year, applications were divided into two main location areas: North and South, ensuring targeted support across the borough. Here are the list of wards that belong to each area which you will need to specify in your application.

NORTH

  • Lancaster Gate

Secondary Wards:

  • Little Venice
  • Maida Vale
  • Abbey Road
  • Regent’s Park
  • Marylebone

SOUTH

Priority Wards:

  • Pimlico South
  • Pimlico North
  • Vincent Square

Secondary Wards:

  • St James
  • Hyde Park
  • Knightsbridge and Belgravia
  • West End
