Help Shape ActiveWestminster’s Next Step in Accessible Fitness

At Westminster City Council, we’re always looking for new ways to help residents, students, and workers lead healthier, more active lives. As part of this, we are exploring two innovative outdoor equipment offers designed to make physical activity more accessible for everyone:

  • Swing Fitness Boxes: Innovative outdoor fitness stations equipped with a range of weights and training gear. These boxes can be placed in parks, community centres, and other public spaces across Westminster. Using the Swing Fitness app, residents will be able to unlock and use the equipment for free, whether individually, in groups, or during coach-led sessions. The aim is to make fitness more accessible and encourage more people to get active in their local area.
  • Equip Sport Boxes: These provide access to a variety of sports equipment such as footballs, basketballs, and tennis rackets. Like Swing Fitness, these boxes would be placed in public spaces and accessed via an app, giving residents free use of the equipment for solo play, group activities, or coached sessions. This initiative is designed to make it easier for people of all ages to enjoy sports in their community and support more active lifestyles.
