Improvement works continue at Paddington Recreation Ground

Westminster Council continues to invest in maintaining and improving facilities and the works are now progressing. We will aim to keep you updated  periodically and share the progressions of the works. Dates might be subject to change as the works are weather-dependant.

COMPLETED

Environmental Area & Forest School

The works to regenerate the very successful and well used Environmental Area/Forest School project are now underway. We aim to relay the paths, add new fencing and boulders, and shortly we will begin to plant and replenish plants, and flora.

Playground Areas

Works to make the playground areas safer and the installation of additional accessible equipment have already started. This is the latest update:

  • FOREST PLAY (older children’s play area) – COMPLETED
  • YOUNGER CHILDREN’S PLAY AREA – COMPLETED
  • PADDINGTON SMALL WORLD – COMPLETED

Pavilion Changing Room

The works to renovate changing rooms in the Main Pavilion will include: removing and treating damp, replacement of old facilities & sanitaryware. This will improve hygiene and cleanliness for the schools and other groups that use them.

Pathways work

Major Pathway Works

The pathway works programme will improve the accessibility for those with disabilities, repair tree root damage and increase permeability in order to reduce ponding, flooding and waterlogging. This includes the paths around the village green and major arteries coming off of it.

Major pathway works are due to commence in December 2023.  We will keep you updated with any developments.

Bluebell Glade and Forest Garden

Works will take place to improve the biodiversity, wildlife and educational capacity of the successful Forest School programme. We plan to improve the walkways and paths to allow for better accessibility and also to plant more native species.

Both areas will be fully closed from the 23rd October until mid-February.

COMPLETED

Tennis Courts

Resurfacing works to the Synthetic Tennis Courts. The current tennis courts have had a lot of usage over the years and are now past their useful life and due for renovation and replacement.

  • Tennis Courts 1 – 7: the maintenance and enabling works have now been completed.
  • Tennis Courts 8 – 13: Resurfacing will take place from 2nd Oct to the end of the year.
