Westminster came to life with movement, community spirit and seriously good vibes, as more than 10,360 residents got involved in April’s Active Westminster weekend, which took place on on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April.

From packed fitness classes and family activities to competitive sport and brand-new sessions, communities across the borough came together to move more, try something new and have fun doing it.

This edition introduced exciting new activities across Westminster, including Slam Jam Basketball at Church Street Community Leisure Centre, Boccia and Bowls at Little Venice Sports Centre, Active Antz at Moberly Sports Centre, Body Combat at Porchester Centre and hugely popular Rollerskating sessions at Queen Mother Sports Centre.

The Unity in the Community Football Tournament also brought the heat, with 49 young players across 7 teams competing in an electric atmosphere full of skill, teamwork and community pride. Our winning teams were as follows:
  • Under 16s – London Capitol
  • Under 14s – London Eagles

Whether it was young people trying a new sport, families getting active together or residents rediscovering  local facilities right on their doorstep, the weekend proved once again that ActiveWestminster is all about bringing communities together through movement.

Save The Date

The next ActiveWestminster Weekend takes place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August, promising even bigger community vibe, more activities, and another unforgettable weekend across Westminster.
