Pathway works start at Paddington Recreation Ground from Friday 12 April

We’re getting some pathway works done at Paddington Recreation Ground starting this Friday 12th April.

Westminster City Council working alongside Everyone Active and FM Conways are about to begin a  phased programme of pathway works to :

  • improve accessibility
  • alleviate trip hazards
  • reduce localised rainwater ponding, and
  • undertake necessary repairs to the underground drains.
Paddington Rec pathway works
Works commence on Friday 12 April and will complete by July 2024.

In order to carry out these works, certain areas will need to be closed to the public and the gates leading into the grounds will be closed in phases corresponding to the relevant pathway work. There will be some facility closures during these programme of works, please keep an eye out for notices, posters and social media posts to keep up to date.

As always our goal is to ensure that all our facilities are accessible and safe for all of our users. We will  ensure that there is as little disruption to your experience as possible.

Free Memberships available for those with Parkinson’s Westminster

Free Memberships Available to Westminster Residents with Parkinson's

In recognition of World Parkinson’s Day, Everyone Active are giving away free gym memberships to residents in Westminster who have the condition.

Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disorder that predominantly affects the dopamine producing (“dopaminergic”) neurons in a specific area of the brain called Substantia Nigra. Symptoms generally develop slowly over years and vary from person to person due to the diversity of the disease.

Keep Moving with Everyone Active!

Now in it’s third year the Everyone Active and Parkinson’s UK free membership provides access to gym, swim and group exercise classes as well as online Synergy Dance Classes.

In addition a free membership will also be given to three carers to provide additional support if needed.

Research has shown that regular, moderate to vigorous physical activity can help relieve some of the motor symptoms of Parkinson’s as well as improving overall mental and physical wellbeing. Staying active helps to maintain balance, strength and coordination.
