Free Memberships available for those with Parkinson’s Westminster

Free Memberships Available to Westminster Residents with Parkinson's

In recognition of World Parkinson’s Day, Everyone Active are giving away free gym memberships to residents in Westminster who have the condition.

Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disorder that predominantly affects the dopamine producing (“dopaminergic”) neurons in a specific area of the brain called Substantia Nigra. Symptoms generally develop slowly over years and vary from person to person due to the diversity of the disease.

Keep Moving with Everyone Active!

Now in it’s third year the Everyone Active and Parkinson’s UK free membership provides access to gym, swim and group exercise classes as well as online Synergy Dance Classes.

In addition a free membership will also be given to three carers to provide additional support if needed.

Research has shown that regular, moderate to vigorous physical activity can help relieve some of the motor symptoms of Parkinson’s as well as improving overall mental and physical wellbeing. Staying active helps to maintain balance, strength and coordination.
