2025/26 Upcoming competitions

During this academic year 2025/26 Westminster-based Schools can participate in over 50 different competitions in sports ranging from athletics through to football. We now have the Autumn/Winter Term ready.

Window to register for the Autumn/Winter terms for the new academic year for 2025/26 will open on Friday 5th September.

Primary Schools Autumn/Winter Term Calendar

  • 23rd September – Network Meeting, 12:00-3:00pm @ The Pavilion, Paddington Recreation Ground (Agenda to follow)
  • 2nd October – Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 Cross Country,10:00-12:00pm @ The Hub, Regents Park
  • 10th October – Year 5/6, Tag Rugby, 10:00-2:00pm @ Regents Park
  • 16th October – Year 3/4 Bees Netball Festival,10:00-2:00pm, Paddington Recreation Ground
  • 18th November – Year 5/6 Bees Netball, 10:00-2:00pm @ Paddington Recreation Ground
  • 2nd December – Year 5/6 3v3 Tournament, 10:00-2:00pm @ Westminster Academy School

We can broker quality services from partners in education, sport and physical activity to help develop and deliver a full PE and School Sport offer to Westminster schools. The team has the support of a dedicated Sports Development Officers and unlike commercial providers; there is no premium to cover the cost of overheads or profit margins.

School Sport and Activity Action Plan

Find out how the Government is working to support senior leaders and teachers to provide high quality PE and sport for at least two hours a week, complemented by a wide range of extra-curricular sport and competitive opportunities.

PE and Sport Premium for Primary Schools

The PE and Sport Premium Funding is set to help schools achieve the action plan and use the extra funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the PE, sport and physical activity they provide (which do not core-type school activities).

Youth Sport Trust responds to School Sport and Activity Action Plan update

The Action Plan sets out important policy and investment for the next two years. Youth Sport Trust believe this should only be seen as the first step of a longer, more radical transformational strategy.
