Council Funding Facilitates New All Weather Pitch at Regents Park

Council Contribution Get's New Football Pitch at Regents Park Off the Ground

We are so pleased that our funding contribution alongside the Premiere League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation has enabled a new hybrid all-weather pitch come into place at Regent’s Park.

The park is home to central London’s largest outdoor sports facility – The Hub, which has grass pitches available to book for a variety of sports.

The Royal Parks is continually looking for ways to provide sport and wellbeing for people in London. This new addition will significantly boost the capacity for women and girls football. It is set to see the number of girls’ football teams playing in The Regents Park Youth League increase from 32 to 110 by 2026.

“The Royal Parks is committed to encouraging people from all backgrounds to become more active, and to providing

space for more women and girls’ teams to use our facilities.” – David Ellis, Sports Manager at the Royal Parks

The new facilities will also help create more opportunities for people with disabilities and long-term health conditions to play football, through the London Inclusive Sports Academy and North London Inclusive League.
