Round 2 of Network Activity Project Funding Opens Soon - Monday 29th July

From Monday 29th July, ActiveWestminster Network partners will have a second chance to submit a proposal for funding support of up to £1000. This funding can be used to support a new or upscaling of a health and wellbeing physical activity community project. 

Submission Deadline: Sunday 25th August 2024 at midnight 

Project Delivery Timeframe: October 2024 – March 2025

Sport for Confidence is organising an Open Day at Moberly Sports Centre (Sports Hall) on Monday 22nd July 2024 from 10:30am to 12:30pm to share the services they offer in Westminster.

The Sport for Confidence team will be discussing the benefits of physical activity on health and wellbeing, alongside delivering free taster sessions of:

  • Boccia
  • Racket Sports and
  • Seated Gentle Exercise

This is an open invite to all carers, health professionals, current and potential new participants and organisations!

Westminster residents come and join the Vitality Westminster Mile on 21 September for FREE

This year we have worked with our partners at London Marathon Events to create a new Westminster Community Wave that is
exclusive for anyone who lives in Westminster to walk, jog or run that famous mile. Everyone is welcome.
 
Every participant will receive a souvenir medal and also a free picnic lunch bag to enjoy in Green Park at the Vitality Wellness Festival!
 
Residents get your FREE entry ticket by sign up using the QR code below and enjoy a day to celebrate physical activity with family and friends.

Park Sports offers a FREE Multi-Sports & Tennis Summer Holiday Camps for children 5-16

This Summer, Park Sports are running a new FREE Activity Programme during the holidays offering Multi-Sport Camps and Tennis for children ages 5-16 who qualify for benefit-related free school meals, have a valid HAF code, or meet other eligibility criteria.
 
Camp dates: Monday 22nd July – Friday 30th August

Update on Pathway Works Paddington Recreation Ground – Tennis Courts 1-6

Update on Pathway Works Paddington Recreation Ground - Tennis Courts 1-6

The works that started at Paddington Recreation Ground back in April are getting closer to completion with the final pathway phase around the Tennis Courts 1-6 starting on Wednesday 10th July.

  • New edging being installed.
  • Asphalt works will commence on Thursday 11th July and be completed by the end of Friday 12th July.
  • Court users are advised to use the alternative gates where necessary.
  • Court No 5 will be closed on Thursday 11th July but all the other court will remain operational.
  • Courts 3 and 4 will be provided with a crossover point from the high level path to the courts the remaining courts can be entered by the side gates.
  • Three benches around that area will be removed prior to pathway works commencing and then reinstate when complete
