Disability multi-sport program Edutain+ is back for this week's half-term holiday

Edutain+ is a multi-sport program for children with disability to be active and play with their peers every half term!

This February half-term, it will run on:

  • Tuesday 14th ,
  • Wednesday 15th
  • Thursday 16th February

10am -3pm @ Academy Sports Centre in Torquay Street, W2 5EW

Cost:
£1 per day

To be eligible, the child needs to be 8 – 16years old that live or study in Westminster.

Sessions are fun, accessible and inclusive to all. For the first time, Edutain+ will be able to accept children that require 1:2:1 care/assistance with their carer in the program, once proof of registration/qualification, most recent EHCP and DBS check is provided.

The Neighbourhood Sports Club programme is delivered in collaboration with members of the ActiveWestminster partnership, this month our Spotlight is on My Little Boarders.

My Little Boarders Sessions

Specialist in children’s skateboarding in London; mylittleboarders specialises in teaching beginner classes and private lessons from a young age all over London.

All the instructors are DBS checked and are experienced teaching with children, delivering  group sessions between the classroom and football pitch, alongside therapeutic 1-2-1 interventions tailored to the individual needs of the most vulnerable young people in society.

Westminster Wellbeing Walks

Westminster Wellbeing Walks

Are you looking to get out walking and meeting new people? Ramblers Wellbeing Walks Westminster organises short and friendly walks in and around Westminster. You’ll receive a warm welcome and plenty of support to make it easier to get active and stay active.

All walks are led by trained local residents who are enthusiastic and understanding of walker’s abilities. With a focus on socialising and exploration the walks cater to your own pace. 

Furthermore we would especially love for you to join us on Wednesdays at 12.30pm Porchester Centre.

Wellbeing Walks in Westminster

Wellbeing Walks is a great way to meet new like-minded people and explore your local area without having to worry about getting lost or having to plan your route!

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks also provides walks on weekdays within Westminster, to find your nearest walk or register for free and receive further information head to ramblers.org.uk.

Ballers of London offer mentoring to young people built around positive relationships. They focus on supporting their passions, in the classroom and beyond.

They deliver group sessions between the classroom and football pitch, alongside therapeutic 1-2-1 interventions tailored to the individual needs of the most vulnerable young people in society. Struggling to make ends meet? Call the Green Doctors who can support you if you have a low household income!

Warmer Homes

The Mayor of London’s Warmer Homes programme provides free heating, insulation and ventilation improvements for low-income Londoners who own their own homes or rent privately.

Grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 are available to eligible low-income homeowners and private tenants, with funding amounts depending on existing energy efficiency rating, tenure, and current fuel type (i.e., gas, electricity, oil, or LPG)

The Neighbourhood Sports Club Programme pausing all sessions during the Christmas holidays

The Neighbourhood Sports Club Programme will pause all sessions for the Christmas holidays

The NSC sessions which provides up to 130 hours of free or low-cost activities for people who live, work or study in Westminster each week will be pausing the sessions during the winter holidays.

From Monday 19th December to Tuesday 3rd January there won’t be any activities scheduled and sessions will resume on Wednesday 4th January 2023.


NSC pausing activities

The NSC programme is delivered in collaboration with members of the ActiveWestminster partnership and includes a range of activities from boxing, football, multi-sports, table tennis and walking groups. Sessions take place during weekdays and weekends and in the majority of cases do not require booking in advance. For more information, visit the NSC Programme page.
