The Neighbourhood Sports Club programme is delivered in collaboration with members of the ActiveWestminster partnership, this month our Spotlight is on Ballers of London.

BallersofLondon Social

Ballers of London offer mentoring to young people built around positive relationships. They focus on supporting their passions, in the classroom and beyond.

They deliver group sessions between the classroom and football pitch, alongside therapeutic 1-2-1 interventions tailored to the individual needs of the most vulnerable young people in society. Warmer Homes

The Mayor of London’s Warmer Homes programme provides free heating, insulation and ventilation improvements for low-income Londoners who own their own homes or rent privately.

Grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 are available to eligible low-income homeowners and private tenants, with funding amounts depending on existing energy efficiency rating, tenure, and current fuel type (i.e., gas, electricity, oil, or LPG)

The consultation has now been extended until Wednesday 21st December 2022.

Your responses will help us better understand the needs of all members of the community, whether you use this space regularly now or would like to in the future.

Proposed development
Currently, there is limited provision that caters to the diverse needs of residents that live in the vicinity of the park. We are proposing new developments that would see this space offer new provisions, including a toilet block, viewing platform, allocated space for play and exercise and a café /facility serving refreshments. 

We are inviting all residents who live local to the park to complete an online survey consultation for the new improvements to better understand the need and desires of the features as set out in the consultation.

NSC Spotlight for December - The Abbey Centre

This month of December our Spotlight is on The Abbey Centre, a community and conference centre offering Women Only yoga sessions every FRIDAY 10-11am.

The is the first of our Neighbourhood Sports Club (NSC) Spotlight. The series aim to feature every month one of the clubs, centres or organisations that offer part of the 130 hr of free sports activities across Westminster.

The Neighbourhood Sports Club programme is delivered in collaboration with members of the ActiveWestminster and Everyone Active partnership and includes a range of activities from boxing, football, multi-sports, table tennis and walking groups.

    We really aim to hear everything you have to say about your physical activity and wellbeing, so we have extended the deadline to give you an extra two weeks to have your say.

    NEW DEADLINE: Monday 12th December.

    If you are over 16 and live, work, study or regularly visit the City of Westminster, we really want to understand how you engage in play, physical activity, sport and leisure services and the key challenges you are facing.

    We want to hear from you as your views will provide valuable insights that will help us shape and improve a range of community services.

    The questionnaire takes around 15 minutes, and you will get the chance to enter the prize draw to win one of the following prizes:

    • 3 x £50 Amazon voucher
    • 2 x 3-month free membership or
    • 2 x 1-month free membership

    The winners of the prize draw will be notified by 15 December, in time to do some shopping before the holidays or start the new year’s resolution of being more active early!

Westminster City Council is committed to providing inclusive outdoor spaces including community hub environments for recreation to fit the needs of residents. We are inviting all our local communities to participate in this consultation for the proposed new improvements at Pimlico Gardens to better understand the need and desires of the features as set out in the proposal.

The consultation is open until 14th December 2022 and should take no more than 7-10 minutes to complete. Your responses will help us better understand the needs of all members of the community, whether you use this space regularly now or would like to in the future.
