Update 23 June on the improvements works in the Playground area of Paddington Recreation Ground

Improvement works in the play area at Paddington Recreation Ground progressing nicely and timely

The works are progressing well on the older children’s area and the  initial groundwork in preparation for the safety surfacing works has now been completed

The safety surfacing works will commence on Monday 26th June and be completed by Friday 30th June.

Once this is  completed the new clatter bridges and towers will be assembled on the week commencing 3rd July. The assembly should be quite quick as it comes pre-fabricated and we should be able to open this area by 5th July. The new kit will amount to almost 20% of additional playspace in this particular playarea which is great news.

Please note that all dates and progression works are weather dependant.

Drop In sessions for the ‘Know Ball Games’ Pilot Consultations starting today Tuesday 20th Jun

Starting on Tuesday 20th June - First Phase Housing Estates Drop In Sessions

The ’Know Ball Games in Westminster’ pilot scheme aims to work with communities to strengthen a culture of play, physical activity, leisure, and sport across housing estates, parks, and open spaces by removing prohibitive play signage.

Westminster City Council believes that participation in play, physical activity, leisure, sport, and play can be truly transformative, inclusive, and inherently positive. Being active and healthy goes hand in hand with an improved quality of life.

The aim of ‘Know Ball Games’ pilot is to remove the ‘No ball games’ signs in a selection of housing estates and parks and open spaces and replace them with a new culture which encourages everyone to use the space for play and be physically active.

Just come along to the sessions on the dates and times below to learn more about the pilot scheme and share your views and insights.
