Nominations are open for 2024 with 9 different categories! 

These annual awards recognise the communities and individuals who make Westminster a great place to get and stay active. Now in its 15th year, we look forward to receiving your nominations and celebrating the people and organisations who help us create an active city for everyone. 

Nominations close at midnight on Sunday 29 September. 

You can nominate in the following categories:

  • Active Inclusive Award
  • Rewarding and Celebrating Diversity Award
  • Change4life Supporting Children and Young People Award
  • One You Westminster Supporting Adults Award
  • Active Place or Space Award
  • PE and School Sport Award
  • Club or Coach of the Year Award
  • Sports Personality of The Year Award, for anyone aged 12 and over
  • The Lord Mayor of Westminster – Unsung Hero Award, in memory of Mariam Sabir

New Alfred Road Inclusive Playground Opens on Friday 30 August

The works to rebuild the Alfred Road Playground (W2) and make it inclusive are now finished.
 
From Friday 30 August, the playground will be open for kids of all abilities to play together.
 
The renovation of the Alfred Road playground aims to bring it back into use for the community, promote wellbeing and encourage an active lifestyle. The new inclusive playground is designed with systems and components of both traditional and conventional technology , creating an environment for all children to play together in a rich and engaging way.
 
This is the first fully inclusive playground in Westminster and we are so excited about it.

New Women Only Gym Sessions at Porchester

New Women Only Sessions at Porchester Leisure Centre!

From 30th of August our programmable zone located on the 2nd floor will become a Women Only Gym.

The sessions’ capacity is 15 people, so check out the slots available and ensure to book it. 

Please remember that a Health Commitment Statement and an Online Induction must be completed before the start of your session.

This will be a private, safe and friendly space that can be used for any type of workout. A female member of staff will periodically check on exercisers and be on hand for assistance.

The ActiveWestminster Weekend is set to take place at leisure centres across Westminster in partnership with Everyone Active.

Free Swim, Gym & classes are available to new users that sign up for an ActiveWestminster Card on the day. 

On Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September, enjoy a range of free activities across the city of Westminster. Activities are open to all residents, including children and families (some age restrictions may apply) as well as visitors.

Places per activity are limited.

To avoid disappointment and help keep staff and participants safe, participants should arrive at least 20 minutes prior to sessions in order to complete a registration with a member of staff. Under 16s should be accompanied by an adult at all times.
