Jumping into Joy: Family Parkour in Full Swing!

This month, we’re flipping the spotlight on of the awesome parents and kids who’ve been leaping, climbing, and laughing their way through our Family Parkour Sessions — and loving every second of it!

But before we dive into their stories, meet the powerhouse behind it all: Parkour Generations London.

These folks don’t just do parkour — they live it. From creating the world’s biggest parkour teaching program to performing on international stages, working with filmmakers, advising governments, and even exploring the science behind movement, they are the real deal.

And the best part? They believe movement can change lives. Whether it’s a Hollywood stunt or a Sunday morning hop with your kid, Parkour Generations London brings that same passion and purpose to everything they do.

Family Parkour Sessions:

  • St Augustine’s (NW)
  • Sundays, 11:00–11:30 a.m.

Perfect for parents and kids who want to move, bond, and have a blast!

See below some the heartwarming, high-energy stories from families who’ve been jumping into something new — together.

Here’s what the participants had to say:

These Parkour classes have put me back into shape, while having fun with my kids! - Fred. We started when my son was 5 and he's now 11- we keep coming back! Chris is a fantastic teacher. He has such a perfect tone when communicating with the kids - he's fun, gentle and clear. He's also great at helping the adults to make progress - I've learnt a lot from his suggestions. It's quite a feat to make a class that works for both a 3 year old and a 45 year old! Hats off to him. My son loves him too, because he's so encouraging and positive. Can't speak highly enough about this class, really. It's such a wholesome, fun, nourishing thing to do on a Sunday morning!

It’s one of the highlights of each week. The kids absolutely love it and we plan our Sundays around it. Chris is the most unbelievable coach. If it wasn’t for him, I’m not sure we would be attending every week. He’s so encouraging and wonderful with the kids, endlessly patient and very very kids and supportive to the parents!

The NSC programme helped me develop by giving me more available training sessions than I would at my school or other facilities in my area. It prepared me for the national league by pushing me to my limits and more just like how any national league team would. It also provided professional and safe coaches to train me which made me want to push myself aswell.

Read Sachdhian’s Story

Sachdhian is a key member of the 'No Question' basketball team.
Sachdhian Dhillon just played his first league CBL game for NO QUESTION. He was in the starting 5, got MVP and 13 points. It was an incredible game for him and we have the NSC programme and his incredible coaches from the last 2 years to thank for all their hard work, dedication and support in his development and skills both on and off the court. It goes to show that these unique basketball development programmes produce great players and stamina. Blessed and grateful.

On The Ground – Sharing Your Stories: December’s NSC Spotlight is The Avenues Youth Project

On The Ground - Sharing Your Stories: December's NSC Spotlight

This month we’re featuring  the story of Leo and his Judo progress with The Avenues Youth Project

The Avenues Youth Project is an open-access youth provision based in Queen’s Park ward in Westminster, one of the UK’s 10-20% most deprived neighbourhoods. It is an area of high youth crime, where serious incidents are frequent. Their team of qualified youth professionals welcome young people aged 8-18 to engage in activities, create positive relationships, ignite a passion, and have fun.

Their youth work is primarily delivered on-site in their purpose-built youth centre, but they also take our young people out into their community and beyond. With the support of Everyone Active and ActiveWestminster’s NSC Programme they run free weekly Saturday Judo sessions for young people in our community aged 8-15 years.

Read Leo’s story

Leo is a regular member of The Avenues and participates in our Saturday Judo sessions.
Over the past year, Leo has developed from a beginner to a competitor, showing not only improvement in his techniques but also in his personal development. The physical and mental demands of Judo, the structured nature of the sessions, along with personalised attention from our Judo coach have been a huge benefit to Leo. Judo's discipline is helping Leo to direct his energy in a positive way. As a result of his hard work Leo was selected to participate in a Judo competition. Despite nerves and a highly stimulating environment, Leo maintained focus and performed exceptionally well; winning a medal for his efforts. This achievement reflected not only Leo’s Judo skills but also his increased confidence, resilience, and ability to face challenges head on. Leo’s journey with a dedicated Judo coach, who has also become a mentor, highlights the importance of focused, personalised mentorship in sports.
